We score it against the methodology
Every quote is checked against the same 30+ factors covering quality, value, and trust. The full methodology is published.
You see what's strong, and what to ask about
A clear grade for each category, with specifics. When something isn't stated, we flag it as a question to ask — not a red flag to panic about.
Why comparing quotes is so hard.
It's not your fault. The industry has no incentive to make this simple — so the same line on every quote can mean wildly different things.
Quotes use language none of us can understand.
The words sound technical, so they sound trustworthy. Most homeowners have no baselineto judge whether what they're being sold is good, average, or poor.
Guarantees look the same on the surface.
Every company offers “10 years.” But what does it actually cover? Is it transferable if you sell? Can the company still honour it in a decade? Those questions separate a real guarantee from a marketing line.
Price tells you almost nothing on its own
£4,200 could be excellent value or terrible value — it depends on specification, building regs sign-off, making-good, and who's actually fitting the windows. You can't compare prices without comparing everything else first.
The problems surface after you've paid.
Subcontracted fitters with no direct accountability. Guarantees that don't survive a company restructure. Deposits that leave you exposed if the business folds. By the time you discover it, it's already too late.
We check 30+ factors against the same published standards — for every quote.
Five categories. One scale from 0 to 100. Every weighting documented in the methodology.
